第五课时 Grammar ( 1 )

I. 要求: 直接引语改为间接引语 A级

语 法 1. 直接引语改为间接引语 II. 建议:

1. 首先要弄清直接引语和间接引语的概念。

2.由于在直接引语改为间接引语时,如果要转述的话是事实、自然现象或所述内容仍是真

实的,则时态不需要变化。故本节课是复习时态结构的好机会。老师在补充练习时要兼 顾各种学过的时态。

3. 由于在直接引语改为间接引语时,需要改变人称,故本节课又是复习代词的好机会。

老师在补充练习时要兼顾各种代词与不同人称。

4.课本P.82 的练习只有两个时态,只有一句动了人称。课本 P.83 的练习只包含一个时

态,没有一句要动人称。故老师一定要补充练习。

5.做完课本上的练习后,可从笔头到口头进行快速操练。如:

1. 首先弄清used to 和 be used to 的不同含义

a. Where did Dr Ma work in the past? He worked in a hospital in the past.

Does he work in a hospital now? No. He no longer works in a hospital now. So we can say: Dr Ma used to work in a hospital.

That means: He worked in a hospital in the past. He no longer works in a hospital now. We use “used to” to talk about habit or state that does not happen any more. b. When I was ten, I went to travel to Beijing.

Can we say: When I was ten, I used to travel to Beijing.

No. If the action happened in the past only once, we can’t use “used to”.

If you say; “When I was ten, I used to travel to Beijing.” That means: When you are ten, you

often went to travel to Beijing. You went to Beijing at least twice in that year. c. Where does Dr ma work now? Dr Ma works on the ORBIS plane now. Is the work on the ORBIS plane strange for him? Yes. Does he work well now on the ORBIS plane? Yes.

So we can say : Dr Ma is used to working on the ORBIS plane.

We use “be used to” to express an action or state that was difficult or strange for us in the past, but now we have a good knowledge of it, or it is well-know to us, or we often hear or see it. We are familiar with the action or state because we do it or experience it often. 2. 翻译下列句子

1) Dr Ma used to do only two or three operations a day when he worked in a hospital. 2) It’s hard work but he’s used to do it now.

3) I used to go to drawing classes when I studied at primary school. 4) I didn’t use to be late last year.
