摘要：A transmission having a fluid pressure piston and cylinder actuator for engaginga friction device for engaging a drive having return springs positioned between a retainerplate which is fixed on the cylinder housing and the piston which reciprocates in thecylinder. Posts on the piston extend through the retainer and one-way spring frictionfasteners positioned on the posts retain the retainer plate and piston in releasedposition with the springs compressed between the retainer plate and the piston as apreassembled subassembly, which is secured in released position by securing the retainerplate to the cylinder housing. The retainer plate has ears limiting movement of thefastener to the initial brake apply movement distance and operative after friction platewear increases apply movement to slide the fastener on the post to limit returnmovement to maintain a constant running clearance distance in the disengaged positionand a constant apply distance from the disengaged position to the engaged position tomaintain constant friction device apply timing relative to the application of applypressure for constant shift timing during the life of the transmission.
