摘要：The number of high power amplifiers required for multi-channel satellitecommunications is reduced by a high power amplification of selected sets (1,5; 3,7) ofsignals in respective common amplifiers (76b1,76b2), with each set of combined signalsconsisting of channels whose frequency bands are mutually discrete and sufficientlyseparated in frequency that their third order intermodulation products (58,60) do notsubstantially overlap in frequency with any of the channels in the same set. The signalscan be separated out again after amplification and transmitted as downlink signals, eitherindividually from a dedicated downlink antenna (80b) or in combination with otherchannels from a common downlink antenna (80c).
